How to download X (Twitter) videos
Five steps, about ten seconds. The awkward cases are covered further down.
Copy the post link
Open X and find the post with the video you want.
Tap the share icon under the post, then choose Copy link. On desktop the URL in the address bar works just as well — you do not need the share menu.
Paste it on VideoTwitter
Drop the link into the box on the home page and press Download.
The Paste button reads your clipboard in one tap, which saves the long-press fumble on a phone. Anything shaped like x.com/<user>/status/<id> works, query parameters and old twitter.com links included.
Choose a resolution
Every MP4 variant X serves is listed with its bitrate and its real file size — not an estimate, we ask the CDN.
The highest-bitrate one is marked BEST. On a weak connection the size column tells you exactly what you are committing to before you start.
Manage your download
A progress bar appears on the row you picked, showing the percentage and how many megabytes have arrived.
Pause stops the transfer and keeps what has already downloaded; Resume picks up from that exact byte rather than starting over. Cancel throws it away.
The link button beside each row copies the direct MP4 URL — useful for pasting into a download manager, another device, or a video editor.
Find your file
On desktop and Android the file lands in your usual Downloads folder as soon as the bar reaches 100%.
On iPhone and iPad there is no progress bar by design — Safari takes the transfer over and runs it in the background, so look under the download arrow in the address bar. That is also why large files work here: building a 700 MB file in page memory is what crashes other sites at 100%.
When a download fails
- "No video in this post" — the post has photos only, or the video lives in a quoted post. Open the quoted one and copy that link instead.
- "Post not found" — it was deleted, or the account was suspended. Nothing to recover.
- "This account is protected" — private accounts serve nothing publicly. No tool can read them without your login, and any site that asks for your password is phishing.
- Slow download — the file comes straight from X's CDN, so the speed is between you and them. Pause, switch to a lower quality, or try again on better signal.
Quality, in plain terms
X re-encodes every upload into several MP4 sizes. We list all of them and mark the highest-bitrate one BEST. There is no upscaling anywhere — if a creator uploaded 720p, 720p is the ceiling, whatever other sites claim.
What we do not do
We do not log the links you submit, keep a download history, or ask you to sign in. Parsed results sit in memory for a few hours so a viral post is fetched from X once rather than thousands of times, and that is the extent of it.
